Tick, Tock . . .

In our fast-paced, information-overloaded world, time is a highly traded commodity. We work, we play, and if you’re a writer, in between somewhere, you find time to write. That’s hard enough. Add to that, research, publicity, reading inside your genre, outside your genre, reading for your own guilty pleasure, and checking out those “must read classics”, and you’ve got a seriously over-scheduled life.
Here are my top three tricks to “buy” time to read:
1.       I do not own a television. I don’t recommend this to everyone, but, you’d be surprised how much time it frees up. Try having a “no TV night”, and read instead.

2.       I read everywhere. No, seriously, I do—in line at Wendy’s, waiting for gas to pump, waiting at the ATM, lunch time at work—wherever my body is required but my mind isn’t.

3.       I listen to Audio Books. With headphones and an MP3 player, you can do this anywhere. You can go to your local library and join NetLibrary, and “check out” audio books from home for free. For less than twenty bucks a month, you can join Audible. Their selection is pretty awesome.

But, let me tell you, a girl has to have her priorities. So, if I had a choice between getting to know this guy and reading a book. . .well . . .

How do you find time for that TBR pile?

Thanks for Stopping By! Let's Chat. . .

Let’s see. I’ll start with saying a little about me.
I’ve been writing for over twenty years. I’ve played around in lots and lots of genres. Lately, in the last few years or so, I’ve settle on male/male. Very recently, I’m exploring male/male paranormal romance. I’m having a lot of fun with this one! It’s really exciting to write about characters who can shape shift, or who are fallen angels or . . you know. . .paranormal.
I’ve started this blog to make new friends and see what’s what around here.
So, here’s what I’ll have coming up for you.
Mondays: When is a noun not just a noun? When it gets featured in an article by my friends over at Visual Thesaurus. I'll be sharing all kinds of neat stuff about words. . and shapeshifting words.
Wednesdays: My “maybe” day. If I’m here, I’ll be blogging about what’s going on in the world of m/m romance, who’s writing what, who’s doing who. . .ahh. . what—stuff like that.
Fridays: This will be my serial story. I’m going to start with a story called The Moon House. So be sure to stop by on Fridays for the latest installment.
My New Year’s Resolution is to learn as much as I can this year about reading and writing romance, and share it with as many people as I can.
I love reading paranormal romance, mostly urban fantasy. Some writers I’ve checked out lately are Lara Adrian, Sherrilyn Kenyon, J. R. Ward, Kresley Cole and a few others.
Who do you like?
